Varlands formed in 2018 as a collaborative team working with clients, designers, branding firms, interior firms and the like to realize high design.
Our practice is compiled of in-depth research to form an exciting user experience based on a personal approach. We love getting to know our clients and put their passion into the built form whatever it may be.
Our range of experience includes restaurants, retail, offices, hospitality and various scales of residential projects which are always inspiring us to create something truly unique.

About Us
Michael is a Registered Architect in the State of New York and New Jersey. He graduated with a Master and Bachelor degree of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. He spent a number of years working for Russell Riccardi Architects, Rockwell Group and Champalimaud Design in New York City before starting Varlands.
Ever since Michael was little, he was constantly dismantling everything just to see how to put it back together, and better. This knack for how things are built has been a fascinating tool for the never ending architectural and design world he surrounds himself with.
Jaclyn is a Registered Architect in the State of New York and Rhode Island. She graduated with a Master and Bachelor degree of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. After leaving Boston she spent time working for Maya Lin Studio and Curtis + Ginsberg Architects in New York City and Sionas Architecture in Montclair, NJ.
Jaclyn loves human life, the natural world, and the built environment we live in and has done everything she can to harness her talents and become a life long student of human interaction, nature, and how these affect design and architecture.
Together Michael and Jaclyn's love for design and social experiences is harnessed with every new relationship by continuing to push the envelope for how we live. If we are not late night sketching or drafting up the next big idea from our dreams, you can find us tackling another construction project in the restoration of our century old home in Montclair, New Jersey.
